The Ugg Boot Making Process
With more than 40 years of experience we have perfected our craft down to the smallest details.
Step 1
Selecting the sheepskin
We carefully inspect and select the best quality sheepskin to make our boots. The top grade merino wool ensures maximum warmth and breathability to keep your foot dry and cosy at all times.
Step 2
Cutting the sections
We use specially designed UGG Boot stencils and a "Clicker Press" to cut the different parts of the UGG. Maximizing the use of our sheepskin is an essential part of our Zero Waste goal so, after this process, the offcuts will be used to create sheepskin stuffed toys, dog beds and other sustainable products.
Step 3
Stitching the upper boot
Once we have all of our sheepskin boot parts we start sewing the upper part of the UGGs. The hand-stitching proccess ensures that no fault is overlooked and that the final product has a premium feel and look.
Step 4
Overlocking the insole
We use an "Overlocker" machine to stitch the inner part of the UGG boot (or Texon) with a professional finish. This layer will provide extra strength and support to the sole.
Step 5
Binding the boot
Once all of our UGG boot parts are in place, we use a binding machine to turning the rough edges of the sheepskin into the smooth color feature so distinct in Uggies.
Step 6
Gluing the outsole
The final step to make a sheepskin boot is to glue the EVA outersole (known for its durability) to the innersole. At this stage, our handmade process allows us to make any necessary adjustments for our customer specific needs.
Step 7
Quality Control
Before we ship or sell any of our UGG boots we thoroughly inspect them to make sure that every pair is perfect and ready to go.
